General Questions
Sure! We welcome students with all skill and fitness levels, ages and backgrounds.
At Sitjemam Muay thai we can organize fights at every level for our students through our matchmakers: from local entry level fights to main events in top promotion on worldwide scene.
Citizens from most western countries get stamped free 30 days at arrival (that can be extended at any immigration office).
Sitjemam is happy to offer advice on choosing the right visa and how to satisfy visa requirements to make your trip stress free.
The beautiful little town of Pai is easily reached by local bus service (Avia Booking/ Prempracha from Arcade Bus Station first minivan 6.30 am last 5.30 pm). and private AYA minibus service from Chiang Mai every hour (150 baht per person), as well as via twice-daily 20-minute flights operated by Wisdom Air. Taxi service from Chiang Mai Airport can also be arranged through us at a reasonable price. Once in town, reach the camp by following the signs after Pai Airport, or simply call us for a free pick-up.
Equipment (hand wraps, gloves and mouthpiece) must be personal for obvious safety, comfort and hygiene reasons.
Students not bringing their own can choose to buy it at convenient price at our Pro shop located on site (selling standard and customized equipment from most popular brands) or alternatively rent it for a fee at the gym for the period of their stay (see prices section).
Water if offered free of charge at the gym, please remember to bring your own bottle to fill.
Don't forget to bring your running shoes if you intend to join the morning run.
At Sitjemam Muay Thai we control the maximum number of students, staying the fact that during group training sessions the number of students varies. During times when there are many students, we will provide additional training support, with a maximum of one trainer per 3 students.
We always suggest for the peace of mind of every student a simple travel insurance with a basic health coverage.
Pai climate is mild if compared to other regions of Thailand with dry season /summer march and April, rainy season July to September, cool season/winter with chilly nights in January and February.
There are cheap local restaurants scattered in the camp area.
Pai itself caters a huge choice of restaurants and cuisines to choose from at all budgets, from cheap to splurge. You can ask for more detailed recommendations based on your specific preferences once you arrive.
Things to do and sights are spread throughout the valley, so most of our students enjoy their free time exploring Pai area with a scooter.
Scooters (auto and semiauto) can be rented at the camp at convenient price.
